Hive 1.x support

I have downloaded the trial version of Hackolade and I wanted to assess it's reverse engineering capabilities with our Hive tables. However, after installing the Hive plugin, I've seen that in the "Connection settings" screen, the "hive version" field only allows the values "2.x" and "3.x".

In our Hadoop cluster we are using Hive 1.1 . Does that mean that we cannot use Hackolade to reverse-engineer our hive tables ?

We tried to connect anyway, but it raised several errors. And before spending more time trying diagnose and solve those errors we wanted to make sure that we want to is actually suported by the product.

  Hello David,  we did not test with Hive 1.x.  If you want to provide details of the errors to support@hackolade.com, including maybe the log files HackoladeRE.log and Hackolade.log from folder C:\Users\%username%AppData\Roaming\HackoladeLogs , we'll be happy to take a look at them and see if there's anything we can do about it.  Best regards

  We have succeeded connecting to a Hive 1.x cluster and reverse-engineering some hive tables. The key changes were:

  1. To use a new version of the Hackolade Hive plugin that explicity supports hive 1.x
  2. To enter the right value in the Kerberos host field
