Is there any way to trigger hackloade forward engineering from a CI tool like gitlab?
The use case is one where the source model lives in a repository and when changes are merged back to master, forward engineering should generate json schemas which are published elsewhere for consumption.

There is a Command Line Interface described here that would allow you some automated forward-engineering. I suspect that a full integration with Jenkins or CircleCI will needs tighter interactions. This is something on the roadmap. Let's discuss further via email:info@hackolade.com
Thank you Pascal. Yes, some kind of containerization may help with proper licensing and all. Let me get all my requirements right. I will contact you via email like you suggested.
I'm also interested in integrating Hackolade into a CI process and am interested in learning more about this. I've already looked into the CLI and it addresses most of my needs, but I was wondering if external references will be updated when processed through the CLI?
As discussed via our ticketing system, we have designed and scheduled a story to generate JSON Schema from the CLI. We also have a story, for which we'll increase the priority to update external references. That may be via an additional argument in the forward-engineering command and/or a separate CLI command to be invoked optionally prior to generation of the JSON Schema. Stay tuned...

At the moment, there's not many schemas to manages, so doing it manually isn't a blocker. But over the 6+ months, I expect the number of models to manage will grow significantly. As the number of schemas grows, the ability to support forward-engineering of JSON Schemas from plain JSON models and updating of referenced schemas from the the CLI will be invaluable!

We have just released v3.5.2. with which the CLI forwEng command has been enriched with arguments to generate JSON Schema (among other things). This could be triggered from Jenkins. More details can be found here https://hackolade.com/help/CommandLineInterface.html
